Fishpaws Marketplace and Homestead Gardens of Severna Park are teaming up to host Corks for a Cause, a fundraiser benefitting the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) and the medical center’s Next Generation Fund. The event will take place Wednesday, June 27, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Homestead Gardens (522 Ritchie Highway).

Proceeds from the event will help fund a designated pediatric waiting area in the medical center’s emergency department.

“A pediatric waiting area in the UM BWMC emergency department will offer a special place for pediatric patients and their families separate from the general population waiting area,” said Adrianne Carroll, major gifts officer at UM BWMC. “The goal of a pediatric waiting area is to reduce a young child’s anxiety and fear about their emergency department visit, creating the best possible patient and family experience.”

Corks for a Cause will feature more than 90 point wines from California. Tickets are $50 per person, a tax-deductible cost that includes food and drink.

For more information about Corks for a Cause or to purchase tickets, visit www.umbwmc.org/giving/corksforacause or call 410-553-8560.
